This paper consists of four chapters that show different results of the study respectively. They are not only independent, but also connected to each other. In Chapter One, the study of pesticide residues in Chinese herbal medicine in the world is reviewed, including the extraction and purification of the sample, the analysis method and the safe control of the pesticide residues. 56 references are cited. In Chapter Two, the capillary GC method is introduced for determination of the organchlorine (BHC+DDT) pesticide residues in traditional Chinese herbal Achyranthes bidentata, Adenophora stricta, Anemarrhena asphodeloides, Chinese yam and Atractylodes macrocephala. The organochlorine pesticides are extracted from herbs with the mixed solvents of Petroleum ether and Acetone, cleaned with concentrated sulfuric acid, separated by SE-30 capillary column and detected by ECD.In Chapter Three, a method is described for the determination of trace organochlorine(BHC+DDT) in soil by capillary gas chromatography. The organochlorine pesticide residues are extracted from the soil with the mixed solvents of Petroleum ether and Acetone, cleaned with concentrated sulfuric acid, separated by DB-5 capillary column and detected by ECD.In Chapter Four, the capillary GC method is introduced for determination of Heptachlor and DDT in soil and Platycodon Grandiflorum. The Heptachlor and DDT are extracted from soil and Platycodon Grandiflorum with the mixed solvents of Petroleum ether and Acetone, cleaned with concentrated sulfuric acid, separated by DB-5 capillary column and detected by ECD.
