Controlled rolling and controlled cooling is an advanced technology in modern high speed wire producing. The remarkable characteristic of this technology is reducing decarbonization, controlling the dimension of particle, improving the organization and capability of steel, and controlling the capacity of ferric oxide. Controlled rolling and controlled cooling can sufficiently exert its potential capability and greatly improve its compositive capability. Based on the research of former person, the controlled cooling of high speed wire is studied more deeply, namely the numerical simulation on temperature field of water cooling process of high speed wire. According to the basic theory of heat transfer and temperature field, with taking the high speed wire Stelmor controlled cooling process as the research object, a simplified physical model is built. The heat transferring of water cooling process is detailedly analysed , preliminary conditions and border conditions are explained, and at the same time the heat transfer coefficient is discussed. The mathematical model established is numerically analyzed with FEM. The essential parameters for border conditions of practical model are made certain by approximate experimental formulae. The practical product line is simulated with ANSYS5.7 and the temperature changing process is got. The controlled cooling factors such as water flux , water temperature, water cooling time and other factors are analysed. This study is the theory basis to optimize controlled cooling technology. Advices to improve the practical technology is put forward and it is recognized by the corporation. The significance for deeply study to the controlled cooling technology is great to upgrade the entire level of product technology of high speed wire for our country and to improve the competition ability in international market.
