According to the demand of grain size of ore for milling slurry technics to be implemented in the base of mine of Kaiyang group, Guizou province, the effect of the control factors such as hole net, initiation, filling parameter, etc and their relationship has been studied deeply. In the study two production sites with different ore were tested by using compare method incorporating statistical analysis for comparing each other, under the existing condition such as character of ore rock, properties of explosive and initiation materials. In this way, the distribution law of the grain size of different grade after blasting and the more excellent blasting parameter have been obtained under invariable condition of hole net and unit consumption of explosive. It is proved that the proportion of the grain size below 20mm increased 10.62 percent by checking in sites and the large block decreased evidently after the advanced blasting parameters be used. The work efficiency increased 19.19 percent and the milling cost decreased 2.58 yuan per tone comparing with the previous powder in the case of old mid-hole blasting. Obviously, the benefit is distinctly, so it is testified that the milling cost to be reduced by"replacing blasting with breaking up" is feasible.
