Study On The Sustainable Development Of Ecological Environment In Developing The West Of China

Sustainable development is a tendency for the further development of human beings in the 21st century. The idea of sustainable development has been around for a long time. In Marxism it is embodied in the statement about the relationship between man and nature. The theory concerning regional economic development put forward by the three generations of the Central leading groups of the CPC carries on and develops Marxism on sustainable development. Moreover, it lays down the theoretical basis for insisting on and carrying out the strategy of sustainable development, especially that of ecological environment, in developing the western part of China.In developing the West of China, the sustainable development of ecological environment is indispensable. The protection of ecological environment, which is the fundamental demand of the sustainable development of ecological environment, is first and foremost the basis in exploiting the resources in the West and developing its economy. It is necessitated by the Beautiful Scenery Project. It is also a lesson learnt form the early experiences of developing the East and the West, which are characterized by "developing economy in spite of damaging the environment before taking measures to make up",The West, located in the upstream of long rivers, provides an important ecological defense for the whole country. However, it is ecologically fragile, economically backward, and heavily populated. For years as a result of reckless tapping of natural resources, problematic economic systems and ineffective government control, the ecological environment has become more vulnerable, seriously affecting the economic and social development of the West and even of the entire country.In order to prevent the ecological environment from worsening in the West, the government should change its outdated ideas about environment , strengthen its macro-control over economic activities and law enforcement, put more fund to scientific study ? undergo ecological construction, spread clean production technology and highlight recycling of resource so that better ecological environment will be eventually available , achieving a balance among economy, society, and? ecological environment as well as sustainable development.
