Pueraria is an important constituent for drug and food since it has a lot of nutriments and particular medicative effects and has been widely used. As the main active component of pueraria ,puerarin is paid more and more attention increasingly for its good therapeutic effect to cardiovascular diseases. Because of the great requirement in domestic and international markets, the price of puerarin has been keeping high for many years. In this paper, aiming at the problem of low output and low efficiency in production of rough puerarin product in one of the south Shanxi province's factories, we have studied thoroughly the extraction and leaching processes .The extraction rate and leaching rate depend on the factors of inspecting the concentraction of alcohol, amout, time and granularity of raw material in extraction process ,in addition to the sort of solvent, PH value and the sort of assistant leaching solvent in the process. With the orthogonal test, the optimal operarion parameters of extraction process are chosen. The optimum process parameters are as follows: 8 times amout of 80% alcohol, refluxing and extracting for 3 times, 9 hours , and the granularity of 10 eyelets (raw material) . The optimum process of leaching is chosen by single factors in experiment, such as the leaching solvent is 1-butanol , the PH value of the original solution to be 2-3, the salt to be NH4OAC. With the use of optimum process parameters, the production process of rough puerarin product can be obviously improved with the output and efficiency increasing greatly, but the production cost being reduced. The result of the paper has important reference and guidance for increasing the output and efficiency of puerarin in industrial production.
