Suitability Analysis is a special way used to study the relationship between a certain land unit and its ecological environment, which is also a core of ecological planning. This research, according to principle of the landscape ecology and its method, studied the relationship between the landscape type of greenland, landscape environment and landscape function. Probed into the connotation and the theoretical system of landscape suitability, find a sery of suitable landscape indexes with stability, dominant, effectiveness, and construct an evaluation indexes system which includs the greenland suitability to the environment, circumstantial harmony, ecological function and aesthstic function. The main research results can be shown as follows:(1) The suitability of greenland landscape, which is also the basis of greenland planning, indicates the suitable degree between the landscape type of greenland, landscape environment and landscape function. It's connotation includes the environment suitability, the circumstantial harmony and the optimal function of landscape. Based on the principle of stability, dominant, effectiveness, an evaluation indexes system which includs the greenland suitability to the environment, circumstantial harmony, ecological function and aesthstic function is founded.(2) In the 100 patches of greenland, about the suitability to the environment, patches with high suitability accounts for 66% of the total amount of greenland patches, they are mainly distributed in the Second Steel Factory, theThird Steel Factory, the Hot-rolling Factory, the Cold-rolling Factory, the Silicon Steel Factory. Patches with medium suitability accounts for 23%, they are mainly distributed around the First Steel Factory, the Electric Apparatus Mending Factory, the Oxygeon Producing Factory, the Instrument Department, the Major Steel-rolling Factory. Patches with low suitability accounts for ll%,they are mainly distributed in the Coking Factory, the Fireproof Material Factory, the Sintering Factory, the Puddling Factory. The main reason of unsuitability is that the air is polluted seriously, and in parts of the study area, the soil hardness is high, while the soil thickness is too thin.(3) About the circumstantial harmony, patches with high suitability accounts for 15% of the total amount of greenland patches,' they are mainly distributed in the Silicon Steel Factory, the Hot-rolling Factory, the Cold-rolling Factory, the Second Steel Factory. Patches with medium suitability accounts for 29%, they are mainly distributed around the Third Steel Factory, the Fragment Iron Factory. Patches with low suitability is 56,accounts for 56%, they are mainly distributed in the north of the industrial region. The main reason of the unsuitability is that the working environment exert great impact on the workers and the greenland crown density is low.(4) About the ecological function suitability, patches with high suitability accounts for 57% of the total amount of greenland patches, they are mainly distributed in the First Gate, the Electric Apparatus Mending Factory, the Hot-rolling Factory, the Cold-rolling Factory, the Second Steel Factory. Patches with medium suitability accounts for 35%, they are mainly distributed in the Instrunent Department, the Major Steel-rolling Factory, the Second Steel Factory, the Fragment Iron Factory. Patches with low suitability accounts for 8%, they are mainly distributed in the Coking Factory, the Fireproof Material Factory, the Sintering Factory, the Puddling Factory. The main reason of the unsuitability is that the patches' area is small and LAI is too low.(5) About the aesthetics function suitability, patches with high suitability accounts for 20% of the total amount of greenland patches, they are mainly distributed in the First Gate, the Silicon Steel Factory, the Second Steel Factory, the Third Steel Factory, the Hot-rolling Factory, the Cold-rolling Factory.
