Based on familiarities with different parts of injection molding machine and its developing trend, this paper analyzed different kinds of clamp systems, compared their relative merits and explained the reasons that two-link clamp system was applied widely in the injection molding machine.On study of the two-link clamp system, the paper had considered the achievements of previous investigators, emphasized the relationship between the friction and the performance of the clamp system, and got characteristic parameters. So the results amended the previous conclusions that ignored the friction influence.By analyzing the friction influence, the paper paid much attention to the friction between pins and rods or platens and drew a conclusion that the friction belonged to borderline lubrication. Friction between pins and rods or platens played an important role, which determined the maximal thrust force of oil cylinder. The paper also indicated the improving measures for reducing the friction and acquired the amplification ratio of force and journey.After improved the structure of the two-link clamp system, machined some components, provided pins and rods or platens with pressure oil, this system was in the state of complete lubrication. The analysis of friction had been proved by some experiments in different clamping force.
