The synthesis of organic-inorganic coordination polymer is an important part of molecule designing in modern chemistry, the transition metal cation can be selected as tempalting, organic ligand with multi-coordinate atoms as building block and oxo-acid radical anion as subordinate building blocks through self-assembly to prepare polymer material with special properties. This paper contains two main parts. The first part is to synthesize 5-formyl -8- quinolinol from 8-uinolinol and chloroform , using ethanol as a solvent. Then analysizing the 5-formyl-8-quinolinol by IR. The second part is , according to ideas of molecule designing, to synthesize the new self-assembly Inorganic-Organic coordination polymers (Co(u2-bpy)V2O6, (C4H4N2)Ni2(H2O)2-V4Ol2, (Cl2Hl2N2)Co-V2O6 using Cu(?), Ni(II), and Co(II) as templating, 4-cyano-pyridine(4-CNPy), 4,4'-bipyridine(bpy),pyrazine(pyz), l,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane(bpe), 5-formyl -8- quinolinol as building blocks and Ammonium Metavanadate (NH4VO3) as subordinate building blocks by Hydrothermal , analysizing their content of element determining their structures by X-Ray diffraction. Crystal energy gap (Eg) was determined by UV-VIS-NIR reflectance spectrum. Their energy gaps are 2.0eV, 2.56eV, 2.10eV, respectively, which all were to semiconductors. They are thermally stable up to 420C, 210C and 350C, respectively, shown as their TG-DTA curves. We also do some experiments to get some idea about the effect of some other factors during the process of synthesizing self-assembly coordination polymers: such as the ratio of the reactants, the pH of the solution, the concentration of the reactants, reaction temperature, reaction time and the type of solvent.
