Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) is a kind of rapid prototyping technique based on material incress. The study on SLS in Huazhong University of Science & Technology (HUST) started in 1996 and the SLS system is developed successfully in HUST now, but the preheating temperature controlling, the device driver and the 3-D laser scanner with dynamic focus scanning subsystem do not perform well in stability and reliability. On basis of the former achievement, the key technology in controlling subsystem above?is deeply investigated in this dissertation. Based on the former temperature fuzzy control system, a new idea that the temperature varies according to the part's character is put forward and realized, which establishes a good foundation for advanced research.The former controlling system is in low stability because of the limitation of windows 9x and the collision between the galvanometer and windows operation system. Hence a new device driver based on the Windows NT is studied and developed successfully in this paper, it makes full use of the resource in Windows NT. It is proved that the new driver is much more safe and stable than the former.Because the previous scanning system made at GSI Co.Ltd. has problems such as zero Offset, complicated installation and calibration, two sets of galvanometer scanning system made at SCANLAB Co.Ltd. are studied and applied successfully in HRPS series of SLS machine made at HUST, which establishes a good foundation for the optimization and choice of the scanning system.
