At the present the main method for analysis in the environmental monitoring is mainly inorganic analysis, there are four kinds of methods for the cation analysis in the field of environmental monitoring: chemical analysis, AAS,ICP-AES and ICP-MS, there are two kinds of analysis method for anion: chemical analysis and ion chromatography.From 1955 AAS is a typical instrument for water quality analysis, and this method have got great improvement from then. AAS has been classified as the standard method for metal analysis in the field of environmental monitoring. I have taken NH4CI as spike in the monitoring for Pb to improve the lowest detection limit. ICP-AES is a good method for environmental analyst, and man has taken ICP-AES as the instrument for the continually and simultaneous laboratory analysis. ISO has taken it as the international standard method for the water quality analysis. ICP-MS is the most sensitive method in the field of water analysis, which is the best and most advanced method in the field. I have made experiments in the water quality analysis with ICP-AES and ICP-MS, the foreign colleague have taken normally EDTA as masking reagent when As, Se and Sb are measured in the drinking water sample, I have taken the ICP-AES and ICP-MS as comparison, and found that we can use ICP-MS directly for water quality analysis without EDTA. Ion chromatography had been usually used for the anion analysis, we have taken IC as the main method for anions analysis with the environmental monitoring, ion balance has been taken as the main quality control method for the chemical analysis, the broad colleague have taken the ion balance as the main method to control the quality of analysis, we have used the ion balance as analysis control method in EMDS (environmental monitoring data management system), we have finished the quick calculation and quick audit with the help from EMDS.Uncertainty analyst is an important work for instrument analyst to decrease the error; I have made this work with the above instruments, which has decreased the error with the analyst and ensured the accuracy, it is the important work with the national laboratory accreditation.The environmental monitoring data management system is the kern of the environmental monitoring labor, which is the main method to finish data audit andstatistics.
