Design Of Multistage A/O Technology Using Suspended Chain Aerator In Shuangliu Wastewater Treatment Plant

With the rapid developing of industry and increasing of urban population , and also with the improving of standard of living and booming of the international economy, the consuming of water is increasing rapidly. This has made the contradiction of water supply and water consumption more serious. Presently, the problems puzzled wastewater treatment plant, especially in medium and small town include heavy financial burden, difficulty in financing and too long construction period. So it is necessary to find technologies with high efficiency and low cost that can fit the situation in our country.In this article, comparison and analysis was made about various technologies such as A/O,A2/O,O/A/O,BAF,Oxidation ditch, AB and multistage A/O technology. The comparison of running cost, investment and management of various technologies was presented. We also discussed the reaction mechanism of multistage A/O technology. A new wastewater treatment system that using suspended chain aerator in multistage A/O technology was introduced. This new technology is high efficient and is also easy to be maintained, with higher aerating efficient. The aerators can be replacing without stopping the system. In addition, the whole system can be integrated in one pond, which makes the cost of land and investment even lower. Because of the advantages mentioned above, the new technology is fit for applying in wastewater treatment plants in medium and small towns, especially in those plants in middle and western areas of China.Based on the analysis of the new treatment system, integrated design of Shuangliu wastewater plant was presented.
