Tie-dyeing art comes of simple folk life with about 5000-year-old history in china, in which it has gradually matured and developed, and has impressed people with particular aesthetic mentality and sensibility. With human civilization's progressing, traditional tie-dyeing art has been endowed with contents and meanings of the new era.When people pursuing the highest level of traditional art, modern tie-dyeing art is created for meeting modern life's aesthetic sentiment, is a creationary action to regress human early aesthetic feeling by modern ideology, expression consciousness and tact. It makes a great difference with original tie-dyeing art from representation tact to design shape, intensively reflects idea and shape of modern culture life. Hence, the studies on innovation of modem tie-dyeing design are provided with great era meanings.The paper began from concept of tie-dyeing, set forth pattern design's program and technique, and summed up irrational factors existing in traditional tie-dyeing pattern design that are unfavorable to design innovation, and introduced CAD in modern tie-dyeing pattern design, and studied on meanings of computer applications on graph innovation and links between correlative techniques. It has introduced principles and methods of design software in plane construction design, fractal graphics, and intelligent pattern creation system in modern tie-dyeing pattern design, and links between CAD of modern tie-dyeing pattern design, digital printing and digital textile. Through many experiments and academic analysis, it concludes that computer aided design has great application significance on modern tie-dyeing pattern design, and industrialization prospect,it's one of the main contentses of modern tie-dyeing pattern design.
