Application Of Fractal Pattern To Textile Pattern Design

With the development of the economy and culture, people’s consumption of textiles has become more and more diversified. Exquisite textile patterns tend to be more intuitive to attract consumers, so pattern design is very important in textiles design. Fractal patterns are created by using computer visualization technology and a large variety of digital patterns were produced. It not only breaks the limitation of traditional design thought, but also opens up a bran-new thought for textile pattern design, as the advantage of more innovative, more aesthetic and more efficient. In this paper, textile patterns are creatively designed based on fractal patterns, aiming to provide new inspiration for textile pattern design, but also explore a new way to apply fractal patterns in textile pattern design. The main tasks of this paper are as follows:Firstly, based on fractal theory, the morphological and artistic characteristics of fractal graphics is studied as well as the correlation of textile pattern and textile pattern. And the feasibility of the application of fractal graphics to textile pattern design is also analyzed.Secondly, the existing fractal patterns are c lassified according to different angles. At the same time, a database of fractal patterns is set up, where is full of different types of fractal patterns. It is convenient for designers to choose pictures that they desire quickly.Finally, textile patterns designed by fractal graphics are designed into practice. Through exploring the proper materials from fractal graphics, successive patterns with Chinese classical style and rural style and others are designed by the way of designing fractal patterns directly or deconstructing and restructuring. At the same time, by applying the design patterns to textile pattern design, the application of fractal graphics in textile design is on a preliminary exploration. Then according to ink-jet printing practice on part of fractal patterns, it is confirmed that fractal pattern applied to textile pattern design is feasible.
