At the present time, the technology of color matching has being advanced quickly in the field of packaging and printing, but the technology of proof doesn' t advance as quickly as it. Most of the plants make the proof sample by hand, only a few of them use the proofing machine to do it. Furthermore, the existing proof machines are not so good as we need, because they can' t meet the printing condition. So the proof sample isn' t good enough to make the manufacture successfully, and which will result in a great deal of wastes. Aiming at solving the problem, the author puts forward the topic. The thesis in brief introduces the genesis and developmental status quo of gravure press, analyses characteristics of inland and overseas presses, we frame the designing scheme on the whole, according to elemental principles, pivotal technology, and designing rules of electromechanical products, applying correlative technologies and making them an organic whole. We design and realize the mechanical and control system. Instead of using the traditional two-dimensional design method, we use virtual design method with the help of three-dimensional software-UG. We finish the whole structural design, and make virtual assemblies, mechanism analysis, drafting after solid modeling. Through the technology of virtual design, a great deal of money and time has been saved; the design efficiency and products performance have been improved. This design has already beenapplied to practice, and has gained a very good effect.
