Model industry has been figured into the lists of industry, product and technology contents that our country supports emphasisly.It develops rapidly with supports and guidances of a series of economic policy. With the step to international and market competition becoming faster and faster,people have considered more and more clearly about the importance of product quality , cost and exploitation about new products . At present, the feature of industry in our country is that the sorts of products are more and update fast and the market is still in the mode of affordmarket. Then the users have expounded more exacting mandate. It is "less time, high precision, good quality and low price". The mandate that users advise about the parts of squeeze casting is a pressure and verification for corporation actually.For the development of model industry, many corporation and research institutions take amount of materials and money to study technology of model. Verified by practice, standardization and specialization of model parts are effective methods to short up periodic time for manufacturing and let price down. And precision and life can be improved by the use of CAD/CAE. Especially, new theories like group technology and so on have been made large progress in area of systematization and standardization of model parts. We have got some outcome in some special code systems, such as die. Then in the forging of liquid metal, which have great development potential, this technique have not been applied completely. There are some technological blank which seriously put off the course of standardization and specialization.Based on the sorting code number for the parts by group technology theory and typical parts, the CAD system of technological design for the forging of liquid metal has been exploited with Visual Basic and database. The practical use of the code system is pleased and achieves some desired results. The code system may be drawn on by other model code systems and is a very useful piece of prelude for model CAE/CAM. It is also a valuable attempt to the standardization and specialization of the forging of liquid metal.The work of this paper has four aspects of significance:1 .The CAPP system is useful in planning the technology of the forging of liquid metal .It can shorten design cycle efficiently, arrange technology suitably and improve qualities of products.2.Parts of the paper about the code will be helpful to promote the process of standardization and specialization of model parts.3.The idea that the code of parts is connected with CAD system is helpful to provide a reference for system design in future.4.The system will be helpful to turn high integration of model design, analysis and manufacture into reality.Because the research time is limited and new theories and technologies have not fully applied to the systematization and standardization of the forging of liquid metal, the code system is waiting for further modification and perfection.
