Taking advantage of Group Technology (GT), established a reasonable rule of forging features'information coding. It can describe the characteristic information of forging, so it provided proper basis for the system. A secondary searching condition of processing program was set, so the searching function of the system was convenient and efficient.developed client application program in windows environment based on Visual C++6.0 platform. Forging models were built using class of C++. It can operate forging process information. Worked from the main windows such as forging data input, forging drawings input, It determined the forging process steps and established the framework of FFHP's CAPP system.According to the work as described, a CAD system of press free forging process is initially established.
