The machine, the work piece and the environment around should be polluted by the conventional electrolyte in Electrochemical machining (ECM). In order to resolve the problem, some Japanese researchers had presented the concept, Electrochemical micro-machining with ultra-pure water. Experiments had been done to prove that since the ion-exchange membrane had been set in ultra-pure water, the ion consistency in ultra-pure water was increasing, the electrochemical current density was increasing which brought out applied dissolve velocity. The concept can bring out a new idea of green manufacturing, which is very important in micro, exact machining. In this paper, an innovative electrochemical machining method, the electrochemical machining technology with ultra-pure water, had been introduced. The principle of water dissociation under the function of ion-exchange membrane, had been studied, so as the necessary condition of the Electrochemical micro-machining (EMM) with ultra-pure water and the molding law of typical configuration; then some experiments had been done by DC and DC pulse to search the influence about current density, current efficiency, and precision brought by some factors. Finally, the experiment results were analyzed and discussed, further, the research work in this thesis was summarized, prospect of later research was presented. The research work in this paper offer a new idea to the conventional ECM, and obtain some success, the research work also sets up a good foundation for subsequent research and practical application.
