The competition of furniture market is more and more urgent, and customers are concerned of not only quality, lifecycle, function, but also the influence to environment from furniture. The disassembly-assembly type furniture which is assembled by various linkers and which can be disassembled and assembled time after time is very important in the rapid development of modern furniture, so it has become major design topic in furniture design. The disassembly-assembly type furniture can reduce work amount on design, improve efficiency on production, make use of room on packaging and transportation, realize the design thought which is surrounded with persons, and save resource and energy. So, the research on assembly and disassembly of furniture design is a very valuable problem. The research content and research significance of this paper are:(1) Surrounding the target of assembly and disassembly of furniture design, I study a series of problems, such as furniture design, furniture manufacture and assembly, the disassembly-assembly type furniture and so on.(2) Applying the common thought of product design for assembly and disassembly to furniture design, I bring forward the rules of furniture design for assembly and disassembly.(3) From the notion of design for assembly and disassembly and related with the advanced computer technology, I summarize the thought of simulated assembly and disassembly, which would be powerful tool for furniture design.(4) I studied the status and application of hardware in disassembly-assembly type furniture.(5) I studied the application of modularization design in disassembly-assembly type furniture, I bring forward the partition thought, partition principles and design thought of furniture modules.
