The aim of this paper is to build the steady state simulation platform of the low temperature styrene/butadiene emulsion polymerization unit. The simulation system can simulate the situation of the unit and can give it a good guidance. Additionally, this system could be transplanted to the application module of TDC3000. Adding an optimized algorism on it, the optimum point could be calculated in real-time speed. Apply the optimum point to the unit, the monomer conversion on polymerization could be increased and the economy benefit of the corporation could be improved.Having been investigated deeply, previous low temperature styrene/butadiene emulsion polymerization reactor models are improved greatly. Field analytical data including total solid content (TSC), Mooney viscosity (ML) and styrene combining weight (st%) are calculated in this paper. So it is convenience to compare the simulation results with actual data. Furthermore, the displacement column model is built, combined with the model of the CSTR model, they have made up of the total polymerization unit model.The simulation and real time optimization system has been successfully applied to styrene and butadiene equipment of organic synthesis factory of Jilin Chemical Industry Corporation. The achievement is outstanding.
