In order to adapting the demand of oil-extended ESBR in rubber industry, the researchers system researched the ESBR oil-extended by naphthenic oil NAP-10. After lab experiment, pilot research and industrialization, the oil-extended ESBR1723N exclusively used for producing tire was successfully developed and the applications of the product were studied.By investigating the factors affecting the bond styrene content, molecular weight, molecular weight distribution and the terminator, the original latex of ESBR was polymerized. The optimum emulsifying process was determined after studying emulsifiers, emulsifier content, emulsifying method, temperature. Also, the oil-extended process was experimented. The pilot research was carried out in the polymerization reactor with capacity of3m3. Industrial production was completed in LZSH ESBR plant. The product meets the contract target by determined polymerization formula and process. We determined the market positioning of SBR1723N by probing the product’s structure, such as contents, TGA, cross linking density, DMA, etc. The application characteristic of SBR1723N were required by studying the vulcanizer and the ESBR/BR/NR vulcanizing feature. Radial tire was trial produced using SBR1723N. The results showed that the developed SBR1723N can match the same type products on the current market. The produced rubber can used to make radial tire tread and sidewall and also the tire used the rubber satisfies the standards of both environment and properties.
