Network manufacturing mode with rapid responsive mechanism to the market requirement is needed owing to the changes of manufacturing circumstance in network age. As a major method to satisfy machine- information integration in workshop, DNC (Direct Numerical Control or Distributed Numerical Control) needs to meet the requirement of network manufacturing, sharing in NC machines via network, optimizing configure and reorganizing numerical control resources. With the rapid development of manufacturing automation and enterprise information, the requirements of enterprises to gather manufacturing information automatically become more and more intense. Since most DNC systems in our country have no function of gathering the status information of machine-running automatically. It will be very meaningful to study and develop an advanced data gathering system for DNC systems. An effective data gathering system can help the enterprise exert the potential of their DNC systems, make the best use of the available resource and speed up its automation process. On the whole, it will improve the productivity, competition and economic benefits of the enterprises. Firstly, the current development of DNC data gathering technologies is reviewed in this paper and the problem of how to develop a better data gathering system under the influence of advanced manufacturing technologies is analyzed. Secondly, the method of data gathering and communication of DNC system is discussed. The function requirement of DNC data gathering system on the characteristic analyzing of network manufacturing is conformed. The system configure model of DNC data gathering through the BL2010 SCM that produced by ZWORLD company. Data gathering serve platform of NC machine based on WEB is established, all function modules of this platform is designed and the construct is analyzed. The realization method of the key techniques, including dynamic data exchange technology and WEB serve connect technology is provided. The validation experiment of DNC data gathering system based on internet is carried out and the communication and information gathering can be realized. This proves that the DNC gathering technology based on WEB through BL2010 SCM is feasible and credibility.
