In recent years, the production and marketing volume of coal in China soars continuously, and the task of building new mines is heavier. The investment and building mines generally account for 1/3 of the whole building mine. A reasonable support method is favorable to improve the speed of extracting and to reduce the expense of support and maintain. The author is engaged in extraction technology and management of the roadway in a colliery, and realized deeply the importance of seeking rational support methods according to the concrete conditions. And then the author devotes to the research on support methods and application. Roadway support theory based on broken rock zone is a kind of comparatively riper supporting theory, and it is relatively wide to use. This thesis summarizes the roadway support theory based on broken rock zone and its application situation; explains the background and meaning, states contents and technological route of the selects title; and expatiates the broken rock zone and its actual measure way. Besides, it expounds especially the grey predicting method of the broken rock zone in roadways, supplying the project instances. The actual method can measure the broken rock zone, but the roadway must be made. Furthermore, it needs to spend a lot of manpower, material resources, financial. Therefore, the author uses grey system theory and establishes GM(1,1)model based on the system analysis about influential factor of broken rock zone. The operational results of the engineering example prove that this model played a guidance role in reasonable supporting prepare roadway with similar conditions.
