Agile manufacture is an enterprise development stratagem facing global competition in 21st century. Now most of the investigations in the theory of agile manufacture and in engineering application are emphasized particularly on the enterprise top level, not on the workshop level. Actually, the investigation on workshop level is the key point to implement agile manufacture. In order to realize agile manufacture and its practicability in middle and small enterprises, the enterprises should devote a lot on both software and hardware so as for enterprises to implement agile manufacture, to act according to circumstance and get manufacturing flexibilities. Taking Shenyang Machine Tool Sheet Metal Works as an example, this paper analyses in details the integration of technical management, knowledge management, network programming, technical data and production management etc. and develops relevant management software. The main results in this paper are as f ollows:(1) This paper stresses technological ideology of production organization and production process in agile manufacturing mode and discusses in details management of knowledge and information in the dummy shop. When production is blocked by uncertain problems or technical problems, new knowledge and countermeasures are needed. So unit knowledge management model is practically used according to the structure of dummy shop.(2) Parallel engineering and dummy design are used for product development by establishing standard library and virtual database to optimize the structure and get the shortest design cycle. New technology such as CAD, CAE, CAPP, CAM, DFA, DFM is extended energetically to solve the problems of manufacturing, assembling and assembling paths to insure manufacturing possibilities and assembling reliabilities so as to meet the maximum production and performance requirements.(3) CAPP database integration management is implemented in technological design and management.(4) The integration of production plan management system and CAPP achieves consistency and promptness of technical and production plan data. It also provides good and rapid operation and management for the improvement of technical documents and production locale operation. It makes possible for conventional enterprises to transfer technical documents by network.(5) The communication technology of manufacturing program and online machine transfers rapidly technical and production information to the relevant equipment, thus technical preparation can be ready ahead according to the relevant regulations. Veracious and efficient program transfers greatly reduce machine preparation time, program validation time and manufacturing wastrels. Maximum economic benefits can be achieved by advanced production technology.(6) Taking the practical workshop as an example, this paper demonstrates technically how to implement agile manufacture in a shop by theoretic analysis and practicality examples on the basis of theoretic ideology of agile manufacture, thus makes a good foundation of transition from a practical shop to a dummy shop step by step. On the basis of analyzing the existing production management mode and production flow of Shenyang Machine Tool Sheet Metal Works, this paper puts forward the function model of improving the enterprise production flow and studies systematically statistic system of workshop production plan and quality tracing system.
