The manufacturing execution system (Manufacturing Execution System, MES) is the middle bridge between the topper business-processing (such as ERP,MRP II) and the bottom industrial equipment control system (such as PLC, RCS, DCS, etc.),is a basic technology method of implementing the enterprise agile manufacture strategy and the link of enterprise information integration. In such as the organizing and dispatching of plan,the controling and improving of production process,issuing the instruction,the collecting real-time production data,etc., the more and more important role is played by MES.On the basis of analysing development and application of domestic and foreign MES, and integrating production craft of PANGANG HotStrip-rolling Mill, it is studied that essential technologies include T-layer,Middleware,OOA,OOD,database,etc., then we developed MES of PANGANG HotStrip-rolling Mill(MES/RZ).This paper takes information construction of Panzhihua Iron and Steel Co. as the background. The first, the crafts of PANGANG HotStrip-rolling Mill are analyzed, the problems are expatiated that need to resolve in the process of developing MES.The second, the system structure that the MES adopted are explained,including this structure included information model, function model and the other models, and the status and function of MES/RZ is expounded. The third, on consulting the present advanced network technology, we carried on the design of the network system, and guaranteed to make the good physical platform for executive system. The fourth, we Carried on the design of the application system, and designed the function module taking advantage of three layers of structure. The fifth, we designed the database and safety of system by using advanced database cluster technology and data safe practice. Finally, we designed detailedly programme, specially, on Plan management module.
