The Analysis And Study Of Water Color Varnish Overprinting

Water color varnish overprinting has advantages of no-toxicity, no-contamination, lower cost, convenient transportation and steady quality of production, and has become the study emphasis in the field of varnish oil for paper at present. It has been the new type of glazing material for printing, and is becoming the development direction.In this paper, a new imported water color varnish overprinting has been analysed firstly. We try to ascertain the solvent, latent solvent, film forming matter by the methods of IR, UV, GC, and so on. Secondly, an acrylic emulsion and a water-soluble acrylic resin have been prepared. Finally, the water color varnish overprinting has been formulated with this two materials and some functional additives.The optimum reaction conditions of synthesizing before-mentioned two materials have also been studied, such as the kinds and dosage of monomers, the dosage of initiator and emulsifier, the kinds of emulsifiers, reaction temperature, proceeding of polymerization, and so on. Some characteristics have been analysed which include appearance, viscosity and stability, and etc. Finally, we get the water color varnish overprinting with good performances with formulation.
