A continuous online industrial emitted exhaust monitor based on the fixed electric potential electro-analysis sulfur dioxide sensor was presented detailedly.The actuality of emission of sulfur dioxide from the industrial boilers and the policies and laws of the government were studied briefly. It was found out that the continous online monitor is a focus of the environment instruments. This article briefly compared some usual ways of emission sulfur dioxide, for example the ultra violet/ infrared spectrum and the chemical titration. And the properties as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the fixed electric potential electro-analysis sulfur dioxide sensor wers discussed in detail.The components of continous online monitor and the functions of all the sub-systems were discussed detailly in this article. The structure and dimension of all components were designed independently, as well as the operation parameters of the whole system. On the basis of the study on the system characteristics, a set of control software was accomplished. In this article those main functions and operations were introduced. And according to this design, a suit of apparatus for experiment was established. After debugging, all the components works steady and the pipe is expedite, and the total system runs well too. Under the management of the control software that runs in the platform of Microsoft windows 98, the system can gather data and check the zero-line automaticly.Using the official method named HJ/T 56-2000 《Determination of sulpur dioxide from exhausted gas of stationary source iodine titration method》, those monitoring data were checked. And the result of sensor characteristic was presented in the table below.The study also showed the result of the experiment apparatus as an integrated system. Three of the samples with different sulfur dioxide concentration were detected by this instrument, and it put up good response and steady output. Checked by the iodine titration method, the Max relative error of 250, 500 and 1000 ppm sample is +2.51%, -1.16% and -1.30% respectively. The results can conform to the requests of HJ/T 76-2001 Criterion well.
