As the development of manufacturing industry with the characteristics of automatization, integration and intelligence, the computer simulation technology is more and more used to test numerical control machining program, aiming to replace or partly replace the traditional practical cutting method. Further more, new methods and new ideas are provided to solve the problems such as the poor human-computer interaction of traditional machining simulation, based on the virtual reality which relies on its advanced and natural human-computer interaction. This establishes the foundation so as to realize virtual operation of NC machine.The objectives of this thesis is through the current virtual reality and web technology to exploit the numerical control machine's virtual operation system which can be applied to the simulation of machining process. This system is based on VRML and Java technology and adopts B/S structure, so user only needs to install a free plug-in to make it operate normally through IE. The thesis mainly explores and discusses the following questions:The first, this thesis studied the general structure model and framework of the system and defined individually the concept models of the main module in the system, which made the foundation for the versatility and extendibility of the system.The second, virtual operation and the detailed realization method of numerical machine are discussed. The virtual operations of numerical machines include various manual operations which are similar to practical numerical control machining. Man-machine interaction technology must be used to solve information transfer among multi-WebPages, so the user's instruction receiving and transfer can be realized. Aiming to the interaction request of virtual operation-oriented, the thesis studied the communication technology based on VRML, Java and HTML, and investigated the realization method of inter-communication among VRML-JavaApplet-JavaScript and multi-windows of VRML, which provided as the support of theoretical foundation and technique for the realization of the virtual...
