At present, grinding method are commonly adopted for planar surface precision process, but it's not suitable for soft non-ferrous metal,moreover,it brings problems such as insufficiency of surface function,low efficiency and environment pollution, etc. Aiming at above-mentioned problems, my tutor---professor Song Yu Quan, put forward a technique using roller burnishing instead of grinding in planar surface treatment, applied for and acquired his practical new type patent "Equipment of metal surface plastic precision forming". Application of roller burnishing in planar surface process has some potential strongpoint: it is a kind of chipless finishing and strengthening technique. Besides producing good surface finish, it can also secure increased hardness and wear resistance after burnishing, and, extended fatigue life can be obtained as well due to the compressive residual stress produced in the surface region, so, it can considerably enhance mechanical quality of part. This paper, is an important structural component of overall research on continuous partial plastic precision deformation and precision process, in close relationship with task "research on roller burnishing plastic precision process for planar metal part"consigned by office for science and technology Jilin province, its content include equipment and technique of roller burnishing for metal plane. Based on tutor's new type patent, manufacturing work on refitting a planer into plane plastic precision processing machine have been completed by our institute, Z-direction feed device was designed to ensure the precise setting and control, at the same time, to solve the problem that processing precision might be low due to the gap existing between ram and devotail slot, we add an balancing and supporting device so as to avoid the incline appearing at the time when the rolling power is big.
