Smoke flow in a multi-storey building in a fire is discussed in present paper by the CFD commercial software PHOENICS. The simulation is carried on through a field model with k— ε turbulence model and six-flux radioactive model and the fire is treated as a spatial thermal source. The calculated results are compared with the data of an experiment which was conducted under the same conditions. The agreement between the calculated results and the experimental data demonstrates the rationality and creditability of the model. On the basis of the model, several ventilation schemes are designed and their influences on the temperature, pressure and smoke concentration in the building are calculated, which offers the CFD building design a practicable method based on the numerical simulation.
