The TLJ300 copper Continuous Extrusion Forming (CONFORM) production line made in our college has achieved the lead position in domestic similar equipment. But when it compared with the similar product made in abroad, the technology gap still exists in automatic control system. At present,manual control is often employed in the control of drawing and rolling machine in continuous extrusion production-line. It has low operating efficiency, and it is a waste of manpower. So it is necessary to import programmable technology to fulfill mechanical and improve operating efficiency.The drawing and rolling machine is a part of continuous extrusion forming process line. The production from the extrusion machine is twined by worker at first. In order to save work force, the prime designed drawing and rolling machine is mechanical. With the develop of economy, the mechanical machine couldn't meet the auto production. Once the speed of extrusion machine changes , the drawing and rolling machine wouldn't catch with it. So it is necessary to control the machine by electric. By controlling the speed of electric motor, the speed of wire convoluting by the d drawing and rolling machine will be consistent with the speed of wire form the extrusion machine.In this paper, the drawing and rolling machine's principle of continuous extrusion forming process line which use DC driver and transducer and PLC is introduced.According to its production requirement,controlling model is set up in this drawing and rolling machine which has constant tension and constant speed two controlling methods at the same time.After investigation and fieldwork of the production-line, I know the control way of PLC and acquaint PLC control and it's way of apply. Then I delineate ladder programming of the drawing and rolling machine and redact program of PLC. And it is also introduced some pertinent control modes and the characteristic of steering routine.After validating academicly and the teacher's guidance, the designeddrawing and rolling machine machine is feasible.
