The shell of high length/diameter rate mainly was manufactured with punching- machining process in our country at present. Due to the big difference in the wall thickness and axis degree, the work piece need more follow-up machine cut and the material utilization and efficacy was low. After the extensive analyses of rolling and drawing, the paper put forward compound process of rolling and drawing and the process of rolling was studied emphatically . It open up the new road for the manufacture of high length/diameter rate shell.MSC/Superform is a nonlinear FEM simulated manufacture system as a numerical simulation platform on which a three-dimensional FEM simulation is performed. From the craft, specifically for extrusion forming of three-cavities, multi-load forming is chosen, and the analysis model is built which is used to simulation, including technological process model, geometry of the die and the elastic-plastic finite-element. The definition of boundary friction conditions between die and workpiece, contact bodies, mesh and remesh and post-processing are also done according to the simulation process. The rolling with a single roll wheel, three same roll wheels in the same plane, three same roll wheels in the different plane, three different roll wheels in the same plane were simulated. The rolling with three different roll wheels in the same plane was the most reasonable scheme according to the analysis of shear stress, equivalent stress, equivalent strain, load-stroke curves.Then the influence of technological parameters on rolling process with three different roll wheels in the same plane was analyzed. The result shows the temperature affects in rolling is very obvious and the load was smaller when the temperature was higher. In the temperature of 600℃, the load is smallest. The influence of the friction coefficient is not obvious.On the base of simulation results, the reasonable process was determined and the physical confirmation was carried out. The result of experiment is consistent with numerical simulation. The rolling-drawing compound forming process achieves the anticipated target.
