With the development of modern mechanic manufacturing towards advanced modes of automation, integration and intelligence, machining process simulation is key method in advanced manufacturing technology. This thesis finishes the simulation of NC turning through computer simulation technology and boolean operation method.The Emulation System In NC Turning(SSINCT) mentioned in this thesis makes 3D solid modeling for parts and the cutter and achieves the simulation of the whole machining process by boolean minus operation between solid models. This system optimizes the data structure which stores those simulation data for the sake of avoiding the boring problem of coordinate transform and meanwhile, it improves boolean operation algorithm by simplifying the construction of polygons. All this does good to the result of simulation.This system uses strong VC++ as its main development language and the 3D graphics standard —OpenGL which is now accepted and used widely as the platform of programming. OpenGL has a good technology named double buffer. It accelerates the output of graphics, avoid the frequent flashes and make the dynamic simulation process fluent.As for this system, it has a friendly interface and a good real-time quality and can be manipulated conveniently. Its source codes have been modularized with good transplantable and practicable natures, which is a foundation of function extension. This system will surely have a good prospect of application.
