In order to recovery effectively coarse fine coal of coal washery, a turbo-cyclone separator of 100mm in diameter is developed, and the effecting technological parameters are studied systematically and the separating effectiveness is evaluated.Structure parameters such as overflow diameter, underflow diameter and inserting depth of overflow tube were modified as well as operating parameters as feed pressure, feed concentration and rotational speed of turbine. Consequently, it was studied how the separating effectiveness vary regularly according to each parameter. It was found that the yield and ash content of overflow increased with the increasing of overflow diameter, feed pressure, feed concentrate and cone angle, while decreased with the increasing of underflow diameter, the inserting depth of overflow tube and the rotational speed of turbine. Simultaneously, the yield content of underflow decreased and the ash content of underflow increased with the increasing of overflow diameter, however the yield content ofunderflow increased and the ash content of underflow decreased with the increasing of underflow diameter and the inserting depth of overflow tube.To be propitious to increase the yield content of overflow and decrease the ash content of overflow, underflow tube used the backing pressure device. The better separating effectiveness is received while the dense product content of the raw coal is high.On the basis of primary assessment on the separating effectiveness of turbo-cyclone separator, quantitative effectiveness can reach 70%-80%, and the possible deviation Ep is decreased from 0.402 of XiMing coal, 0.405 of artificial coal I to 0.18 of artificial coal II, so the separating precision is increased obviously.It is indicated that the turbo-cyclone separator has definite separating performance by experimentation. But now, the separating precision of the turbo-cyclone separator is still low. The structure of the turbo-cyclone separator will optimizate to increase the separating precision.
