Wheel gears play a very important role in the mechanical industry, with the development of modern industrial technology, mechanical transmission need the hard face gears with high bearing capacity, high locomotion velocity, resisting corrosive pitting, high precision, low teeth surface roughness, low noise, long life of geer workpiece. In order to meet the increasingly engineering requirement, correlative technical measures were taken in the aspects of designing structure, selecting material and changing character with heat treatment, manufacture of finishing machining geer cutting is a pivotal factor. Therefore the designing of external gear honing tool and manufacturing process werestudied in this paper. The process of external gear honing tool has apparent effect on improving gear precision and teeth surface roughness after heating treatment. The equipment of external gear honing tool is simple, and is convenient for manipulation. This technique adapts to batch production of mid-module geer, and it is a much potential finishing process for geer manufacture .As a universal method of machining hard teeth profile gear, whose features , applications and feasibility of machining have been represented in many domestic articles and overseas journals in the past few decades. Based on the theory of the space-mesh- theory external gearing, the mesh principle of external gear honing tool , calculation of honing velocity , the number of standard involute external gear honing tool impact on cutting deepness, calculation methods of modifying teeth shape were analyzed by using the means of revolving matrix. External-gear-honing teeth surface equation of involute generated profile was deduced in this paper.Through ActiveX technology provided by AutoCAD, using VBA to complete compute aided design, to accomplishparameterized design, to reduce workload designing external honer and improve design efficiency.The main process problem in laser scanner brazing metallic-membrane plating CBN on basal body of honer are the binding force between metallic-membrane plating CBN abrasives and brazing alloy and the equal height of the superhard CBN abrasives. Processing parameter such as laser power, brazing temperature, scanning rate, brazing alloy and soldering acid impacting on brazing technology were analyzed in this paper.
