Panax ginseng is a kind of Chinese traditional medicine, which has effects on many diseases. Much research has been focused on ginsensides and naphtha, but little on other components such as ginseng peptides, which also exist many physiological functions. This thesis consists of two parts. In the first part, we summarized the isolation methods from preceding studies on ginseng peptides, separated acidic and basic segments by ion exchange chromatography, then obtained 7 acidic and 5 basic components by Sephadex G-15 chromatography. In the other part, we tried to study the biological activities of the ginseng peptides, and paid our attention on the activities of vasodilation. In the study, the traditional perfusion apparatus were improved, and a new technology, toad's single lower limb perfusion, was used in our work. The results showed ginseng peptides have the activities of vasodilation to the artery of toads'lower limbs. And ginseng peptides were proved great significant difference, P<0.01. At the same time, in the concentration from 1.25 to 3.50mg/ml, the peptides have comparability with NTG and Huatuo Relife Pill, which is a kind of traditional drug in china. The ginseng peptides could evoke a concentration-dependent relaxation on isolated aortic strips of toads, which had been NA-precontracted beforehand.
