The spindle box is the important component of the machine-tool , so all the time a lot of experts devote to the important subject studied constantly in the design about the spindle box. The requisition for stability and accuracy in machine-tool design improves day by day at present, limiting conditions to the spare parts is more and more too, more and more complicated, the traditional experience formula has been already unable to meet the designing requirement. Not merely from the spindle box's characteristic, it the whole trend of designing the means and method that is seen, it is essential to introduce advanced design method to the design of spindle box.This paper introduces the system of machine-tool spindle box optimization and intelligent design. Based on the structure of the spindle, use optimization design theory; with machine-tool spindle tip deflection minimum and spindle weight minimum as the function of goal to set up mathematics model. Choose different methods to solving and receive the optimum value of the main structure parameter of the spindle, thus achieved the purpose of improving the machining accuracy and the process surface quality. Users can input the parameters and design, calculation, optimize through the friendly parameter interfaces; Meanwhile, verify each part in the spindle box based on the invalid form of such parts as spindle, gears, bearing in the spindle box. It set up the whole framework of the system, including four parts: optimize and calculate subsystem, data service subsystem, knowledge processing subsystem and graph processing subsystem. It has set up knowledge expresses models of the knowledge base and achieved forward reasoning and heuristic reasoning through programming. It has developed the special-purpose two-dimensional drawing software of spindle box. it has certain meaning to improve the design level of machine tool and strengthen the competition ability of the enterprises.
