By according to the predecessors' research results and collecting in Fujian coastal areas and buying in market we obtains 8 kinds of sea algae. Crude polysaccarides are extracted from the 8 kinds of sea algae {Rhizodonium implexum (Dillw.) kittz, Enteromorpha tubulosa kutz., Porphyra haitanensis, Sargassum vachellianum Grev., Laminaria japonica, Gracilaria verrucosa (Huds.) Paperfuss, Sargassum fusiforme (Harve.) Setch,. Ulva pertusa Kjellm) by water, acid and alkali and we account the rate of extracted. After the course of removing protein, pigment and secondary metabolites, we get crude polysaccarides from 4 kinds of sea algae(Rhizodonium implexum (Dillw.) kittz, Enteromorpha tubulosa kutz., Sargassum fusiforme (Harve.) Setch, Ulva pertusa Kjellm) being extracted by water. We obtain 2 components(RWP-l and EWP-2) from crude polysaccharide of Rhizodonium implexum (Dillw.) kittz purified by 2 kinds of molecular screen (Sepharose 6B and Sephadex G-50). RWP and EWP are sulfated to get esterificated products. There are 5 experiments being studied on 4 kinds of extracted crude polysaccharides, which are the total sugar content, protein content, sulfate radical content, UV scanning spectrum and IR scanning spectrum. These studies approve that the 4 crude polysaccharides have characteristic of polysaccharide, low level content of protein (SWP has the highest level, it is 1.16%) and sulfate radical (SWP has the lowest level, it is 0.76%). Sulfate radical content test and IR scanning spectrum are studied on 2 kinds of sulfated polysaccharide. The 2 studies approve that the sulfated products have higher level of content sulfate radical than the un-sulfated (RWPS-2 has the least recruitment ,it is 1.43%).In order to estimate the antioxidation activities of crude polysaccharides, 3 kinds of generater systems for free radicals ( superoxide radical(O2-), hydroxyl radical (OH ? ) and lipid radical (R ?)) , protective effect experiments on red blood cells against hemolysis by O2- and lipid peroxidiation induced by OH ? are designed in vitro. The results show that the 6 kinds of crude polysaccharides have more obviously eliminating effect on superoxide radical(O2-) than the other 2 free radicals (in protective effect experiment on red blood cells against hemolysis by O2", SWP has the lowest level at 133 μ g/mL, it is 17.86%; in the determination experiment on the cavenging R ? effect, UWP has the highest level at 400μ g/mL, it is 10.87%) and have higher activity in protective effect experiments than eliminating effect...
