In recent years, the design and synthesis of novel organic-inorganic hybrid polymers have attracted great attentions owing not only to their intriguing structural motifs but also their potential applications in catalysis, medicine, host-guest chemistry and the promising photo-, electro-and magnetic materials. As a branch of hybrid system, silver (copper) halide coordination polymers are becoming an ever-increasing interested field, which could be attributed to the versatility of inorganic moiety itself, and on the other hand, the adjustability of inorganic network with the effect of organic moiety. They represent unusual electric, magnetic and photo properties. Thus, it is significant to synthesize the organic-inorganic hybrid silver (copper) iodide polymer and investigate the rule of assemble, structure and the relation between structures and properties. We carried out the study about the organic-inorganic hybrid silver (copper) iodide polymer and intended to find the relation between properties and structures based on summary of literature search systematically. So far we had made achievements on such aspect: 1. Devising and synthesizing four novel organic-inorganic hybrid silver (copper) iodide polymer, two copper(â…¡) compounds and employing X-ray single crystal diffractometer technology to determine their structures : (C17H18N)4[Cu6I10(OH)2] Compound 1 (Ph3PC2H5)2[PtCl6] Compound 2 [(C8H26N2O2)(Ag2I4)]n Compound 3{[(C2H5)4N] (Ag2I3)}n Compound 4 Cu(dafone)2(DMF)2(ClO4)2 Compound 5 Cu(DPP)(DMF)2(ClO4)2 Compound 6 2. The effects of reaction conditions on production are considered and studied, and we found a feasible method of synthesizing the organic-inorganic hybrid silver (copper) iodide polymer. 3. The IR spectrums of the compounds have been characterized. UV-Vis spectrums of all compounds have been characterized and attributed. 4. The TGA was employed to characterize the thermostability of compound 3 and 6. 5. Cyclic voltammetry method was adopted to investigate the electrochemical property of compound 5 and 6. 6. DFT/BLYP calculation was carried out to study the nature of bonds and the electronic structure of compounds 16.
