Solid-state chemistry of the actinides is the subject of significant investigation because of its relevance to nuclear waste disposal and power generation, mineralogy, and catalysis. The crystal chemistry of uranyl minerals and synthetic compounds has received considerable attention recently, owing to the importance of these phases in the environment. In crystal structure, the approximately linear uranyl ion is coordinated by four, five or six anions in an equatorial planar arrangement essentially perpendicular to the uranyl ion, giving Urф4 square, Urф5 pentagonal and Urф6 hexagonal bipyramids. The various connection modes between U-O polyhedron and inorganic oxygen acid allow uranyl compounds to be structurally very diverse. The organic groups can control and modify the structure of inorganic framework, for its rigidity in conjunct mode, flexibility in stereo chemical and strong capability of coordination. The research on organic templated uranium selenite and phosphite are limited so far. It is significant to synthesize novel uranium compounds, and study the rule of assemble, structure and the relation between structure and properties.This dissertation focuses on the synthesis, structure and characterization of organic templated uranium selenite and phosphite; at the same time, we intended to find the relationship between properties and structures. So far we had made achievements on such aspects:1.We synthesized five novel uranium selenites and four novel uranium phosphates, determined the structures of these compounds by X-ray single crystal diffraction technology.
