Pressure swing adsorption (PSA) is a perfect technique, which is applied widely in industry. It do not need complex preprocess system, and works at normal temperature without equipment rotten and environmental pollution. It have brief installation and high automaticity. It have high reliability. It is easy to operate, and it's condition of operation is abroad. The degree of purify is deep. The period of running is long. With convenience operation and low investment, PSA is a good separate technique and have a very wide applied prospect. The system of PSA works in recurrence, including two step: adsorption and regeneration. Regeneration include the steps of the first pressure decrease, flowing, the second pressure, converse eduction, flowed, and rising pressure. In the process of adsorption, all the impurity is adsorbed by the adsorbent, left the hydrogen of high purity. In the regeneration the impurity in the adsorbent is flowed away. This make the process recycled. This experiment simulates each period of PSA according the advanced automatic control equipment, which offer the operating parameter and theory to the application of PSA in the modern industry. PSA is distinguished depuration from purification according as different purpose to design pressure swing step. The PLC automatic control system is achieved by the software of "zu tai wang ", using MICROWINV32 STEP7 programming from SIEMENS CORPORATION as the language platform. Considering the process of each column can split into nine or eight steps, make the same step of control system modularized and compile nine or eight modules of different function. In each step, the column call the corresponding module. Our aim is industrial production in this thesis, and the separation of H2-CO gas mixture by Pressure Swing Adsorption processes carried out on four coloumns based on PLC control system is investigated. The adsorption selectivity for CO in binary gas on NA and 5A adsorbents were measured. The effects of pressure and flow rate had also been studied. The research mainly focused on purging hydrogen in the mixed gas of carbon monoxide and hydrogen based on PLC. PSA device have four columns with NA and 5A complex adsorbent packed in them. The hydrogen with impurity of carbon monoxide is purified by pressure swinging. Based on the experimental data, an appropriate adsorption equilibrium model was establish. The model was used for researching the steps of adsorption and cocurrent blow down when the feed gas contained CO and H2. the calculation results by the model were coincident with experiment data. The circumstances inside the adsorbent bed which could not be measured by experiment were researched by adsorption equilibrium model. The calculation with model gave a tool for industrializing the adsorbents.
