Properties And Evaluation Of Elastic Silk Fibers And Its Products

Bulk stretch silk and differential tussah/mulberry elastic silk, two kinds of new real silk materials recently successfully developed, are investigated in this paper. Their structures and properties are studied, as well as the properties of the cloth. The results show that both of them have good elastic elongation, good elastic recovery and high bulkiness. The cloth of the two new silk materials has more excellent properties than that of Bombyx mori silk, such as elasticity, bulkiness, crease-resistance and warmth retention.Evaluation method used to study elastic silk yarns (such as differential tussah/mulberry elastic silk) also is studied. By comparative analysis, the testing method according to standard for nylon such as FZ/T54007-1996 is an effective one. By technical and economic analysis, the market feasibility and invest adventure of bulk stretch silk are investigated.
