Oak silk is the traditional exported product of Liaoning Province, which has the strength of natural silk. But at the same time it has the week points of poor flexibility, vulnerable crease, high shrink and water stains. The filament synthesized with polyester fiber and polyamide fiber has the good physics property. I. e. under dry and wet conditions, it can remain flexible, crease resistant, and can keep the size stable when processing. If oak silk is combined with other fibers, the respective advantages can be developed and the weakness of each fiber can be avoided. Since synthetic fiber is used as the frame of oak silk covering yarn, and the oak silk covers the synthetic fiber filament, the covering yarn not only has the property of moisture absorbency and ventilation as the oak silk does, but also has the property of being rigid and stiff, easily washable and dry, and shape keeping as the terylene does. Silk terylene covering yarn is a new product. This paper conducts theoretical analysis of covering yarn quant if icationally and qualitatively, and analyzes the test of physics function of the product of oak covering yarn and itsstyles, so that we can systematically understand the formation mechanism of covering yarn, what affects the functions of covering yarn, the covering effect and how to instruct the practice. At present, we have successfully developed the product of oak silk covering yarn. It is practically proved that because the terylene filament in the oak silk covering yarn is completely covered with oak silk, the surface of the fabric has the quality of pure oak silk at the same time the problem of washing and wearing can be solved, so that the integration of silk quality and practicability can be attained.
