In recent years, with the further development of ocean resources, the maritime ecological environment worsens day by day. Oceanic calamities, such as red tide, frequently take place. For the continuable development of ocean, it is imperative to accelerate the monitoring and control of the quality of sea water. But traditional methods of sea water quality detection are so inefficient that they can't meet the need of real-time quality detection of sea water. Therefore, it is urgent to develop ship-carrying spot monitoring system for sea water quality detection. This subject is put forward on such a background.This program is a subtask of a maritime monitoring technology subject in resource and environment field, which belongs to the National High-tech Research and Development Program (863 Torch Program). The core task is to develop ship-carrying spot monitoring system which will enable us to monitor maritime ecological environment in time.The ship-carrying automatic biochemical analysis instrument developed in this subject is an integrative system of mechanism and electronics, which combines DNA molecule-probe biochemical technique with mechanical design technology, computer control technology, sensor detecting technology, communication technology, electromotor control technology and so on. The instrument adopts a rectangular coordinate servo manipulator with three unrestricted movement orientations as transmitting module and integrates sea water sampling pretreatment system and some necessary biochemical apparatus modules such as, biochemical plate storeroom, electronic pipettor, incubator, biochemical plate washer, biochemical plate detect apparatus and so on. This instrument realizes complete automation of sampling, processing and analyzing for sea phytoplankton ( red tide alga ).In this paper, the tasks we are going to introduce are as follow: engage myself in the research on biochemical analysis technique, and design the general frame of this automatic biochemical analysis instrument; penetrate into the key technology of this automatic biochemical analysis instrument, novel modules which employ mechanism, electronics and pneumatic technologies have been designed and accurately realize the complex motions of filtration, breaking-up, transferring of the liquor, keeping temperature, concussion and so on; manipulator has been designed which can grasp the fix-quantify-pipettor and transfer the biochemical plates. It goes according to the programming path smoothly; through the virtual prototyping technology, the three-dimensional model has been designed and movement simulation has been performed, which shorten the research period and improve quality of this instrument greatly.In the end, give a prospect of the betterment scheme for this automatic biochemical analysis instrument.
