Based on virtual prototyping technology theories and methods and appliance of virtual prototyping technology summarized, and the status and research issues of firecracker-braiding machine.It introduced virtual prototyping technology in the design of firecracker-braiding machine for the first time, to explore the application method of advanced CAD technology in the design of light industry machinery. The technical line of virtual prototyping development based on Pro/E and ADAMS was proposed. The virtual prototype model of firecracker-braiding machine was established, and its dynamic simulation was established. The firecracker-braiding machine was designed in this article, its working principle was introduced, and portrays the working circle of machine, and then realized processes kinetics analysis. In order to solve the problem in working processes, a new vibration sieve was designed. The model of mechanism of sieve was built and dynamic simulation and analysis were done with the help of ADAMS, the most important parameters that influence on design have been verified. The firecracker on the surface of vibration sieve was analyzed and its movement equations were established. The criterion of up-slip, down-slip and tossing of firecrackers were formulated. The working parameters of sieve mechanism were optimized successful.The author adpoted the performance design and parameter optimization study of firecracker-braiding by virtual prototyping technology, and explore new method to decrease product development cost and improve product quality. The machine was studied by methods of virtual prototyping simulation analysis, and optimal parameters have been obtained. These results have important significance for theoretical instruction and practical application.
