Application of belt-grinding has made an epoch to develop to modernization by several years. As an advanced manufacture technology, Heavy belt-grinding is a important development and research direction in belt-grinding technology. Nevertheless, it is not integrity that we research the machining process, grinding phenomenon, the ability of grinding various material and optimization to relevant grinding technological parameters. Appropriate experiments and analysis support above all. Though application of belt-grinding is more aboard today, the fact that the equipment and method of testing grinding performance is not effective leads to we can not select correct belt type and parameters. Consulting manufacture practice, a equipment for the experiment was design and effective analysis method is recommended. First, It's studied about the mechanism of the heavy belt-grinding, with the analysis of the main parameters to value the method and the affecting factors of the parameters . Secondly, on the base of analyzing the characteristic of heavy belt-grinding, choose the rational evaluation of grinding performance,confirm the grinding parameters that must be mensurated,design and manufacture the equipment and method of testing grinding performance that includes machinery,electric control and the fixing of sensor. Third, It is studied about the mechanism of heavy belt-grinding, with the analysis of the main parameters to value the method and the affecting factors of parameters. In all the grinding parameters, the influence that the grinding depth make on removal rate is greater than belt speed and grinding depth speed. During the grinding , coarse granularity zirconium corundum belt is preferred to get efficiency, lower temperature and longer durability. Chose of the grinding parameters is important to get good grinding effect. Cooling condition is pivotal in the heavy belt-grinding. In the grinding, water soluble cooling ant should be used, with large flux stress cooling style, in order to reduce the grind temperature, and avoid the die burn of the workpiece.
