A set of small static electric dehydrator with a computer is established. The current of the dehydrator is monitored in real time through an A/D card installed in computer. The effect of the dehydration parameter on current is reflected fast and exactly on the basis of the curves of dehydration current changing along with time, thus research time and costs are saved. The effects of the dehydration parameter such as temperature, electric field, demulsifier, the concentration of the iron sulfide, polymer, and water in crude oil on the dehydration current was investigated in this experiment. The reasons that the Electric field of the dehydrator is collapsed were analyzed. And some methods could decrease the dehydration current were put forward. The results shows that the dehydration currents increase with falling in dehydration temperature, increasing in intensity of electric dehydration field, raising the content of water or iron in the crude oil. Lights striking or/and discharging would appear when those parameters get certain amount. Some serious situation, the electrical equipment of the experiment apparatus of electric dehydrator stops the supply of electricity. That is the phenomenon of collapse of the electric field of the electric dehydrator. We have found that The content of water and iron is the main cause of the phenomenon of collapse of the electric field of the electric dehydrator. The natural surfacants, polymers and colloidal FeS particles are the key cause of the form of the oil-water intermediate layer of the 4th Produced Factory. The mixture of 2# demulsifier gaining from the screening and combination of demulsifiers, and acids could demulsify many types of oil-water intermediate layer, and the collapse of the electric field of the electric dehydrator had been restrained effectively. When 2# demulsifier and sulfuric acid are used together, the electric currents of electric dehydration for produced fluids during water drive, polymer drive and ASP flooding decreased remarkably, the peak on the dehydration current curve vanished, Lights striking or/and discharging is restrained in the process of electric dehydration.
