The ring-type anode baking furnace in our country was developed on the basis of Japan Light Metal Company's baking technology imported at the beginning of the 1980s. From then on, there has been a little innovation on flue choosing, flue baffle, refractory and anode loading, but little improvement on the design and manufacture of automatic control system. Based on studying advanced foreign technologies, a new-type baking anode system was developed in this thesis. Main research work and conclusions are as follows:(1) In the aspect of process technologies, production capacity, loading mode, system configuration and parameters of the baking process were determined. The temperature difference in the pits was shortened to only 28℃ by optimizing the flue-wall, which avoided the ununiformity of the product quality. With the optimization of the baking technology, the pitch volatile was burned during 2p-3p and, therefore, the exhaust contaminant of pitch and heat consumption were reduced, the qualification rate of the products reached to 99% and anode consumption was only 500kg/t-Al, 20-50kg/t-Al lower than that of any other aluminum factory in China.(2) In the aspect of equipment, the design of the anode baking furnace and heating equipment was achieved and domestic manufacture of the equipment was realized, which leaded to the reduction of investment about $42,740,000. Oil line-feeding technology could assure that the fuel was shooted in the flue instead of to the flue wall so that the life of the furnace could be greatly prolonged. The practical temperature-rising curve could be kept with the expected one by using the advanced burning technology. The cycle of fire removal could be shortened from 36 hours to 27 hours, with production output increasingby about 33%.( 3 ) In the aspect of automation, a distributed control system with programmable software was applied to control the equipment. Energy input and negative pressure of every flue were exactly controlled. The uniformity of temperature distribution was improved and the control error in the high temperature zone was less than ± 2 °C.
