Carbon anode baking is one of important working procedures in modernaluminium industry.With the development of aluminium industry, more carbonanodes and higher quality are both quired. The quality of carbon anodes will havedireet impact on current efficieney and energy on sumption to aluminium eleetrolysisproduction. Anode anode baking technology has great impact on the productquality, roaster life, and energy-consumption and environment security. Therefor, acomprehensive and profound study on many aspects of baking process and control isimportant.This paper is based on the projeet of36circle anode baking furnace in SichuanAostar Aluminium Ltd. This study expatiates the gap between internal andinternational level in producing anode teehnology. By improving the design, useand maintenance of the baking roaster, the life of thebreaking Roaster reachs to7years and the life will continue to increase. Natural gas consumption foranode baking is only61Nm~3/t, which achieves the domestic advanced level.Automaticaly filltion of charcoal bowl is used for the first time and this increaseslabor efficiency and decrease labor intensity.Taking new cleaning technology makes the raw depth reach to50%ofthe anode with calcination of98%for the first time. This made a great contributionto the reduce power consumption. Depth study of the new technologies tothe product quality control, quality differences, and baking anode quality has beenstable at a target range of products, and the appearance of the pass rate higher thanthe industry average of2%. The quality of the block between the anode formingand baking is aslo studied. The roasting process shuold match requirements for thequality of forming the anode.
