The fire statistics reveal that effluents inhalation is the main reason of fire victims. With the developments of material industry , many new material come forth, effluents toxicity of fire become more complicated, more casualty and more property loss were made. It's one of the important problems that the effluents hazard of burning material for fire protection now. Evaluation of material burning effluents hazard is the key that resolve problem of fire effluents toxicity .Methods of components analysis and animal contaminated are two main technology ways used for evaluating the effluents hazard of burning material in the world. Usually the evaluation method of burning material effluents hazard is based on the animal tests ,there has been no report that using both FTIR technology and animal contaminated methods to evaluate the effluents hazard of burning material comprehensively. Thus this paper proposed tests using the apparatus that materials can be burned to produce smoke and animal can be contaminated, while using FTIR analysis smoke components to comprehensive evaluate the effluents hazard of burning material.The paper finished condition choice experiments for FTIR system and got the best analysis condition for analyzing the effluent components of burning material, carried through experiments comparing with other analysis methods, experiment result indicates that the FTIR method we have built is consistent with traditional analysis methods and can be used well for analyzing the effluent components of burning material.Three representative materials which include willow wood, acrylic fibre wool and fire retarded PVC cable box were choosed to comprehensive estimate the effluents hazard of burning material, temperature, burning condition and smoke concentration effect on effluents toxicity of burning material were studied. Experiment result indicates that different material has different thermal degradation characteristics , willow wood has a clear water loss stage, fire retarded PVC cable box is more rapidly than willow wood and acrylic fibre wool in early stage during pyrogenation. The higher of smoke concentration is, the bigger of effluents toxicity are. Various heating temperature effect less on effluents toxicity of willow wood at 100% smoke generation. Burning condition...
