The viscose/pupa protein filament is a new regenerated protein fiber, the shortened form is PPV, which has particular patent in the development of new chemical production. It is used the chemical method to extract the protein from the silkworm pupa, and then polyblended with the rayon liquid under certain condition. The protein is accumulated in the surface, which forms the skin-corn structure. It is used the technology of modified polymer, biological engineering which makes the combination of viscose-pupa protein very hardly. Because the filament has good properties in moisture absorption, its knitted fabric also has good permeability, drapability as well as wearability, which make it have good market foreground. But its filament presents golden color on the surface, which restricts the diversity of the production.This paper mainly discussed on the bleaching parameters and properties of viscose/pupa protein filament weft knitted fabric. Mainfactors of bleaching treatment were discovered, meanwhile the wearing characteristics in the more reasonable condition was also discussed. Besides, this paper did detailed research on the filament and fabric of viscose/pupa protein to make the study more comprehensive and practical.Firstly, we measured the filament's properties such as flexural rigidity, friction, flexibility and twist. We discussed the influence factors of these properties on the knitting process. In addition, we also studied the loss ratio of pupa protein on the two knitted fabrics, and the fabric using in the experiment was determined in the end.Secondly, according to the good moisture absorption of viscose/pupa protein fabric that leads to bigger distortion in the process of dipping, washing and finishing and makes lower density on the fabric, two methods on improving the dimension stability were suggested. Meanwhile, we found some relationships between among whiteness and fabric density, the gram per square meter and flexural rigidity, which establishes foundation for the bleaching treatment.Finally, we focused on the bleaching treatment step by step The main factors were studied and discovered from this research. It indicates that the H2O2 consistency and urea consistency and temperature are the main effective factors in bleaching treatment, while the other factors such as Na2SiO3 consistency, Na2CO3 consistency, time, bath ration are comparatively minor. All these studies settled a good foundation for thetechnical design & establishing the regression equations to obtain a reasonable bleaching treatment. The fabric under reasonable treatment was also been discussed in this paper.
